Dr. Laura Schlessinger says in the midst of the controversy surrounding her use of the N-word, that her 1^st amendment rights were violated. She gives this as the reason for very publicly quitting her job in talk radio yesterday.

In response to the incident where she used the n-word several times in a conversation with a caller who called in for her assistance, Dr. Laura feels that people are oversensitive to the word and are hate mongers.  However, as Larry King reminded Schlessinger, just as she does have a right to say what is on her mind, the public has the right to disagree and be upset.

Do you think that Dr. Schlessinger’s rights were violated? Do you think that she should be able to say whatever is on her mind? Or are there areas that are off limits?

Or, do you feel that she resigned because of the numerous sponsors that have pulled their money from Schlessinger’s show from her repeated use of the word? And that by quitting simple because some people oppose what she says?
